Chelsea Clinton has been showing off her baby bump at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in New York this week — and everyone has been wondering, Is it a boy or girl?
Well, her father may have spilled the beans this afternoon.
This afternoon in an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, former President Bill Clinton referred to Chelsea’s soon-to-be-born baby as his grandson. And then he stopped for a second and quickly added “granddaughter!”
Stephanopoulous asked if Clinton had some news to share, and, realizing his mistake, the former President said, “No no no. I’m proud of my son-in-law and my daughter for not wanting to know.”
Could Chelsea be having a boy? We should know in the next week or so.
Chelsea and her husband investment banker Marc Mezvinsky shared news about the pregnancy in April.
Since the announcement the mom-to-be has shared little about her pregnancy, keeping the gender and due date quiet. But in a recent CNN interview, Bill dropped a hint about the expected arrival.
“I hope by the first of October, I’ll be a grandfather,” he said.
Every year the CGI’s meeting brings together world leaders to discuss innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. Even though Chelsea looks as if she could give birth at any moment, she has been attending all events at the CGI, running from Sept. 21 to 24.
Wearing a silk green dress, the 34-year-old daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton showed off a pregnant belly as she walked across the stage to take part in a panel discussion.
